Number 1 in the Smart City ranking
Over 150 cities around the world were compared in the "Smart City Strategy Index" of the analyst Roland Berger. Vienna won once before in 2017 and took first place again in 2020. In addition to top placings in the category "livable" of the consultancy firm Mercer, Vienna takes another award – and can now call itself the smartest city in the world. Vienna scores highly with the smartest solutions for challenges such as the growing population, traffic, and climate protection, putting it ahead of London and St. Albert in Canada.
Constant digital progress and ever more innovative projects put Vienna at the top of the list and naturally contribute to the highest quality of life. These include Vienna's pioneering concepts for further development in the areas of education, mobility, and the environment.
