Das goldene Wiener Herz

The name says it all with the products from "Das goldene Wiener Herz" (in English: the golden Viennese Heart): the high-quality porcelain mugs and glasses are decorated with typical motives of Vienna in real gold. Classic images of Vienna are taken and reinterpreted, those in decline are rediscovered.

The range "Art Nouveau in Vienna" shows six different details of well-known Art Nouveau buildings, such as the Secession or the city rail station at Karlplatz on specially made porcelain mugs. Stories and photos about the respective motives can be found on the packaging. The portrait range "Couples in Vienna" has Empress Elisabeth and Emperor Franz Joseph I. as the motive.

For the glasses, the graphic designers make reference to old heuriger traditions. Wine used to be commonly served in bulbous stemless glasses, whose edge was decorated with a green vine pattern. On the glasses in the "Das goldene Wiener Herz" range, these vine patterns are now finished in real gold. Also attractive is the balloon glass with the "tipsy" gold edge and a small heart on the bottom. The "ballon" used to be the most commonly found wine glass in Vienna's inns and is increasingly disappearing from everyday life.

The "Das goldene Wiener Herz" products are available from numerous shops throughout the city. A full list of outlets can find on the company's website: www.dgwh.at/im-handel
