Vienna’s Treasury houses unique works of art, prized jewels, and important symbols of power. Everything embodying the Western imperial idea comes to life here at the center of the former imperial residence. Discover crowns, scepters, and garments, all symbols of this dynastic system, and admire the treasures of the Holy Roman Empire and regalia of Imperial Austria.

These exhibits of great material and artistic value reflect both worldly and spiritual power, as the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire were regarded as the Vicars of Christ on earth and as the 13th Apostles.

Above all, however, the incomparable collection of treasures in Vienna’s Hofburg, the former winter residence of the Habsburgs, demonstrates the equally unique dominance of this dynasty which endured for over 500 years.
