To mark the 200th anniversary of Johann Strauss' birth, the Theater Museum in Vienna is opening its doors to a unique exhibition about the Waltz King. This show offers the perfect opportunity to experience the splendor of the Strauss era in the city that made his music a global sensation.

Amidst the historic backdrop of the magnificent Palais Lobkowitz, the Theater Museum, in collaboration with the Vienna Library in City Hall, presents an impressive collection of objects celebrating the life and work of Johann Strauss Sohn. His grueling life is illuminated, as are his relationships with his parents, brothers, three wives and love affairs in Russia. 

The focus is on his artistic production, the dance and concert music that has always been popular all over the world, as well as his music theater works. Original objects from performances and exhibits from his written estate illustrate the historical and political context of the time.
