Reason to celebrate on Vienna's musical scene: The musical Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" – based on the novel by Victor Hugo and the famous Disney film – celebrated its Austrian premiere at the Ronacher on October 8, 2022.

Disney songs for the whole family

The unforgettable Disney songs are part of the fascinating musical adaptation of the emotional story about the bell ringer Quasimodo, the beautiful Esmeralda, and the cathedral of Notre Dame. The live orchestra provides an opulent orchestral sound; imposing church choirs and sensitive ballads move the audience. – No matter what your age: Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" will give adults and children (from a recommended age of eight years) an unforgettable musical evening.

Love and passion

The musical tells the story of the congenitally disfigured Quasimodo, who grows up in the bell tower of Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, shielded from the rest of the world. When he creeps up on the annual Feast of Fools, he gets into difficulty. Only the pretty Esmeralda stands up for him. When she is targeted by the evil archdeacon Frollo, Quasimodo rescues her and hides her with him in the bell tower. – A gripping story of love, longing, and passion.

From the pen of Oscar winners

Two real greats of the musical business are the creators behind the musical adaptation of Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame": The legendary musical composer and eight-times Oscar, eleven-times Grammy, Emmy Award and Tony Award winner Alan Menken (incl. Sister Act, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas) and the lyricist and three-times Oscar, Golden Globe and Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz (incl. Wicked).

Scott Schwarz has lavishly and powerfully produced the musical with a spectacular set. After many international productions, such as those in the USA, Berlin, and Tokyo, the successful musical can now finally also be seen for the first time in Vienna at the Ronacher.
