Barfly’s Club
Barfly’s, as the Viennese call the cocktail bar, was already a legend when it was located at the former Hotel Fürst Metternich. Mario Castillo, who founded Barfly’s Club back in the day, was considered one of the most creative and well-known players on the Viennese bar scene. After his death, his wife continued to run the legendary cocktail bar. When the hotel was closed for renovation, Barfly’s had to take a break as well. Now the bar is back with a completely new look at the new boutique hotel Josefine. An what a comeback it is!
Velvet-covered stools and sofas, lots of brass, walls made of green marble and huge mirrors are reminiscent of a bar where the Great Gatsby would have fit in perfectly. Everything reflects the glamor of the 1920s. Nothing has remained the same, only the great atmosphere and the drinks remind us of the past. Today, Barfly’s Club is once again known for its 400 cocktails, 1,200 whiskeys and 500 different kinds of rum. So the famous American bar is back.
