Naschmarkt

Vienna’s largest and best-known market primarily offers international and oriental specialties. Located between Karlsplatz and Kettenbrückengasse, the Naschmarkt brings one of the city’s most interesting districts to life. If you are looking for local specialties, you will find them at the farmers’ market that takes place every Friday and Saturday. There is also a flea market on Saturdays. A visit to the Naschmarkt can be combined with a stroll through the Art Nouveau, since the market is located next to the Secession, designed by Joseph Maria Olbrich, and runs alongside the famous Wienzeilen houses, built by Otto Wagner.

Karmelitermarkt

The Karmelitermarkt is also just a few minutes’ walk from the Old Town. From Schwedenplatz, cross the Danube Canal and you will find yourself in the Karmeliterviertel, at the heart of which is the Karmelitermarkt. This traditional neighborhood market had fallen somewhat quiet until it was revived in recent years with a growing number of eateries, studios and galleries. Friday and Saturday with farmers' market

Brunnenmarkt

A colourful, newly fashionable district is springing up around Brunnenmarkt, a little further from the city centre, in Ottakring (16th district). The market exudes South European flair with a strong Turkish flavour. Young artists have set up home in the area, making the Brunnenmarkt and the adjacent Yppenmarkt one of the most exciting areas in the city.
