Vienna City Marathon 2025

All of Vienna will be on its feet at the Vienna City Marathon on the weekend of April 5 and 6, 2025 – to run, cheer and be part of the excitement! The route takes the runners past many of the city’s highlights. From the start at the Vienna International Center – UNO-City, through the Vienna Prater, past the Vienna State Opera and Schönbrunn Palace to the finish on the Ringstrasse between the Burgtheater and City Hall: participants will enjoy a sightseeing tour through the musical and cultural metropolis of Vienna.

The 200th anniversary of the birth of Johann Strauss II will also be celebrated in grand style at the annual running event. Before the start of the Vienna City Marathon, all the participants can dance the waltz of the same name by Johann Strauss II next to the beautiful blue Danube. The goal is to have 2025 pairs dancing in three-four time. Vienna’s marathon soundtrack will bring Strauss vibes to many points along the route, turning the event into a “marathon in Strauss and Braus”.

The classic marathon over 26.2 miles, a half marathon and a relay marathon for teams of four will take place on Sunday, 6 April 2025. On Saturday, April 5, it’s all about “Exercise for All” with children’s runs and the Vienna 5K, a 5-kilometer run along Vienna’s magnificent Ringstrasse in the heart of the city.
