By train
Vienna's train stations are centrally located and have good connections to the public transport network. With the Vienna City Card, you'll enjoy total mobility the moment you arrive at the station, with subway, tram, and bus connections, as well as discounts for sightseeing, restaurants, and much more besides.
ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways)
The products of ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways) are aimed at individual travel needs with numerous offers for private or business travelers and for families.
Sparschiene
The tickets issued by Sparschiene Österreich and Sparschiene Europa are a particularly affordable way to travel. Early booking is recommended because ticket numbers are limited and tied to particular trains. Reservations can be made up to six months or 180 days before the departure date.
Night train ÖBB Nightjet
Gain valuable holiday time by traveling at night. The ÖBB Nightjet allows visitors to travel to Vienna while they sleep from various European cities including Hamburg, Berlin, Zurich, Basel, Rome, Venice, Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris.
There's a wide range of options to choose from when traveling with the ÖBB Nightjet: places can be booked in a standard seat, couchette or sleeper carriage. It is also possible to reserve individual seats or private compartments (e.g. private compartment in a couchette carriage, especially attractive for families). Special compartments for women only and wheelchair users are also available.
Discounted Sparschiene tickets can also be booked on all night trains.
For an overview of the Nightjet and EuroNight connections, visit the website of ÖBB.
Car and motorcycle transport on the ÖBB Nightjet
Motor vehicles can also be transported on the following night train routes:
- Bregenz - Vienna
- Split - Vienna
Please note that a rail ticket must be purchased for all passengers in addition to the vehicle ticket.
