Big hits and new songs

The spectacle captivates with an impressive stage show, thrilling choreographies, dazzling costumes and an elaborate set. Falco’s unforgettable music is unsurprisingly front and center: In addition to his greatest hits, the show also features four brand new songs composed exclusively for the show by Falco’s original songwriters Ferdi Bolland and Rob Bolland. The pair were also creative advisors to the musical production, as was the legendary music producer Markus Spiegel - the man who discovered Falco, and Falco’s friend and confidant for many years.

Surprising cast

There is a lot of excitement surrounding the show’s newcomer leading man: Moritz Mausser, a Viennese born and bred, plays Hans/Falco. The role of Falco Alter Ego - Falco’s inner demon - is played by musical star Alex Melcher (We Will Rock You, Jesus Christ Superstar). Actor and singer Andreas Lichtenberger (I’ve Never Been to New York) plays Falco’s manager, Horst. Katharina Gorgi (I am from Austria, The Sound of Music) will depict Hans’ wife, Isabella. Hans’ mother, Maria, will be depicted by Tania Golden (Mozart!, Mary Poppins). Other roles will be played by Franz Frickel, Simon Stockinger and Martin Enenkel.

Falco the superstar

Hans Hölzel’s career began in Vienna’s underground clubs during the 1980s. The character of Falco that he created for himself, his unforgettable songs and his eccentric and charismatic personality made him famous the world over in no time at all.

With more than 60 million records sold, numerous number 1 hits and songs in the charts of 27 countries, Falco is still considered one of Europe’s most successful pop stars. His 1985 pop-rap hit Rock Me Amadeus was the first and so far only German-language song to reach the top both the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the British singles charts. The lyrics from that song read like a description of his character “Falco”:

Er war Superstar
Er war populär
Er war so exaltiert
Because er hatte Flair …
