Babenberger Passage
Sometimes, bad planning from years gone by also has its good sides. The Babenberger Passage situated on – or rather under – the Ringstrasse, between the Imperial Palace and Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, was planned as a pedestrian underpass. Road traffic should be able to flow above ground undisrupted.
This idea has long since been consigned to history, and the Babenberger Passage was unused for many years until it was given a new lease on life as a thriving club. The atmosphere is futuristic, and the flexible design elements, combined with state-of-the-art lighting systems at times almost give the impression of being on a spaceship instead in a former imperial capital.
And the music? The programme features club, dance, house, soul, R'nB - and visitors can be sure of a lot of funky beats. If this calls Kruder & Dorfmeister or Nigel Hayes to mind, you're on the right track.
